Baby Naming

The first gift you give to a new baby is their name and the naming of children in a formal, ritual sense has been practiced by peoples and cultures for all time and in all places. Presenting your new baby with their name, and presenting them to the world is a time of great pride and joy.

A new sibling can be a bit challenging for your older children but their participation in a naming service and recognition of their continued importance in your growing family can be reassuring; particularly in blended families.

Unity Candles are often lit by each family member as they make a pledge to the new child but there are other rituals too that can symbolize unity and optimism for your child’s future.
